Industrial drop-on-demand personalization for high-volume card issuance.
DoD ProCard is an industrial-grade drop-on-demand personalization system built for the volumes a central bureau issues. UV inkjet lays down monochrome or full colour at up to 1200 dpi, edge to edge, and a transparent protection layer can be applied over the whole card or only where it is needed. Images, text, numbers, barcodes and QR codes go onto financial, membership, health and student cards — at a running cost well below a thermal transfer line, because the consumables are inexpensive and the maintenance is straightforward.

Bureau throughput without bureau running costs
Drop-on-demand UV inkjet
Ink is placed only where the artwork calls for it and cured on the card by UV — no ribbons, no transfer film, and nothing consumed on the parts of the card that stay blank.
Up to 1200 dpi, edge to edge
Photographic images, fine text, numbers, barcodes and QR codes, printed right to the card edge rather than stopping at a white border.
Monochrome or full colour
The same machine runs a black-and-white data card and a full-colour artwork card, so one line covers the whole product range.
Selective protection layer
An optional transparent protective coat is applied across the full surface or over chosen areas only — useful where a signature panel or a chip has to stay clear.
Modular system configuration
Input, encoding, printing and OCR modules are specified for the programme in hand and added later as volumes grow.
Monochrome variant: DoD MonoCard
Where colour is not needed, the IDM6821 DoD MonoCard prints black and white only, at a substantially higher production speed and a lower cost per card.
Artwork that survives the wallet
Up to 1200 dpi of drop-on-demand ink-jet, printed edge to edge and cured by UV, so the design is fixed to the card rather than fading across its validity period.
Fully flexible for system configuration
Input, encoding, printing and OCR each sit in their own module along the line. The configuration is set to the card products being issued, and extended module by module rather than by replacing the machine.
Simple workflow, easy operation and maintenance
Blank cards go in at one end and finished cards come out at the other. The line runs unattended between loads, and the maintenance it does need is the kind a bureau operator handles without a service visit.
The running cost is what decides the programme
Ink is cheaper than ribbon and transfer film, and drop-on-demand uses only what the design needs. Against a thermal transfer system the cost per card falls substantially without giving up print quality.
