IDmetrix® Chip Encoding (CE)
Writes the prepared data to the chip and reads it back to prove it landed correctly.
Chip Encoding writes data to contact and contactless smart chips: the data groups, the SOD and the Document Signer certificate produced upstream, plus the keys and applications the chip needs. Post-write verification reads the chip back and compares it with what was meant to be there.
Contact, contactless and magnetic stripe in one operation
Capabilities
Key functions
- Chip initialization
- File structure creation, application identifiers and master key setup.
- Data encoding
- Writing personal data to chip sectors and files according to the data mapping from the database.
- Key management
- Cryptographic key management (DES, AES, 3DES) and use of a SAM module for secure key storage.
- Read / write / verify
- Reading existing data, writing new data, and post-write verification comparing what was written against the original.
- Multi-technology support
- Contact chips, contactless chips and magnetic stripe handled in one solution.
- Batch personalization
- Batch encoding of hundreds or thousands of cards with automatic data mapping from CSV or database.
- Script generation
- APDU script generation for complex scenarios such as e-Passport and banking applications.
- Integration APIs
- SDK, COM objects and REST API for integration with IDMS, Production Management and access control systems.
- Audit and logging
- Every encoding operation logged for audit and compliance.
Compliance
Standards
- ISO/IEC 7816
- Contact smart cards: file system and APDU commands.
- ISO/IEC 14443
- Contactless cards, including MIFARE and DESFire families.
- MIFARE DESFire EV1/EV2/EV3
- High-security national IDs, payment applications and multi-application cards.
- Contact smart cards
- ISO 7816, Java Card and SmartMX for bank cards, SIM, e-ID and e-Passport.
