DeskBook Laminator
Desktop lamination that seals the personalized data page.
The DeskBook Laminator is the second half of the decentralized ink-jet passport solution: once INKJET DeskBook has personalized the paper data page, this unit seals it under security film. PID temperature control holds the heat steady through every cycle, an accurate positioning system aligns the film on the page, and lamination pressure and temperature are set to the film in use — full-page or patch. It sits on the same desk as the printer and is fed by hand, one booklet at a time — built for government bureaux, embassies and issuance offices personalizing documents where the applicant is, and usable for other secure documents in booklet format.

The half of the job that decides how long the document lasts
Precision temperature control
PID technology holds the platen at a stable, consistent temperature through the whole lamination, which is what makes the bond durable rather than merely tacky.
Customizable settings
Temperature from 120 to 150 °C, pressure from 800 to 900 kg and a cycle anywhere between one and sixteen seconds — set to the security film in use, so a change of film supplier is a settings change rather than a new machine.
Precise positioning
The positioning system aligns the film to the data page every time. A film laid a millimetre out is a spoiled booklet, and in a decentralized office that booklet is not easy to replace.
Full-page and patch film
Both film formats are supported, so the machine follows whatever the document’s security design specifies rather than dictating it.
Reliable manual feeding
The booklet is fed by hand and handled intact through the process — no automatic transport to jam, and no stack of documents at risk if something goes wrong.
Paired with INKJET DeskBook
Print and lamination sit side by side on one desk: the same operator personalizes the data page and seals it, and the applicant waits for both.

Stable heat, from the first booklet to the last
PID control keeps the temperature consistent throughout the laminating process. The bond on the booklet laminated at nine in the morning is the same as the one at five in the afternoon.

The film lands where the page is
Accurate film alignment on every cycle. A misplaced overlay ruins a personalized booklet, so the machine registers the page before it seals it.

Set to the film, not to a default
Lamination pressure and heating temperature are adjusted to the specific type of security film used — which is what lets one machine serve a document design that changes over the years.

The booklet comes back intact
The feeding mechanism handles the booklet without creasing or dragging it. In a district office the operator has one blank passport for that applicant, so the machine is built not to spoil it.

Fast enough for a counter, sealed for a decade
Lamination is quick without giving up quality: the applicant is not left waiting, and the document holds up for the whole of its validity.

Two machines, one desk
Compact enough to stand beside the printer with room left for the work. Together they are a complete passport issuing point in the space of an ordinary office desk.
