The MLP DeskCard is a desktop card personalization machine built on the Multi-Layer Personalization security process. Multi-Layer Personalization
The MLP security process personalizes every layer of the polycarbonate card, so security and color meet in one document.

5-color CMYK plus varnish inkjet prints color portraits at up to 1200 dpi, with security elements in the varnish.
Front and Back Engraving
256 grey-level laser engraving with MLI and CLI, on both sides of the card.
Contact and Contactless Encoding
Chip encoding for contact and contactless cards to ISO 7816 and ISO 14443 type A/B.
Automatic Quality Control
A QC camera verifies the personalized elements and diverts anything that fails into the reject bin.
PC and PVC Cards
Handles ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 cards from 0.76 to 0.84 mm, with double-card and empty detection.
One pass, seven modules
A blank card is fed in at one end and leaves personalized, verified and stacked at the other. Engraving and printing are both positioned to ±0.1 mm.

Every layer of the card is personalized
Colour portrait, guilloche artwork and card data are printed in 5-colour UV inkjet, while the laser engraves the portrait, MLI/CLI and micro text into the polycarbonate itself. Because each layer carries its own personalized content, the card cannot be reproduced by copying a single surface.
