Five layers, each one personalized
A polycarbonate datapage is built up from layers that are fused into a single card body. MLP personalizes them one by one — the engraved data sits inside the material, the color is printed above it, and the overlay seals the result.
Because the personal data is distributed through the depth of the datapage rather than applied to one surface, altering a finished document means reconstructing every layer at once.

A series of ISO/IEC and CQM tests has been completed and passed. The results show that DoD UV inkjet technology keeps printed content in good condition for more than ten years — the working life of a travel document.
