IDmetrix® Enrollment Software (ES)
Captures and records the applicant’s biographic and biometric identity data.
Enrollment Software is where the chain of trust starts. It captures the applicant’s biometrics and demographic data — through Online Pre-registration on the applicant’s own device, at a counter, a mobile station or a self-service kiosk — checks the quality of every sample while the applicant is still in front of the operator, and hands a secured enrollment package to the IDMS for adjudication.

- Biometric capture
- Fingerprint scanners, facial cameras, iris scanners and signature pads driven from one operator interface.
- Pre-processing and quality control
- Image enhancement, feature extraction (minutiae, facial landmarks) and quality scoring against NIST and ISO standards.
- Demographic data entry
- Name, date of birth, gender, address, citizenship and existing ID number, with OCR scanning and NFC chip reading to fill fields from documents the applicant already holds.
- 1:1 and 1:N matching
- Verification against the database through AFIS/ABIS, so nobody registers twice under a different name.
- Template generation and storage
- Creation of standardized biometric templates to ANSI/ISO formats, and ICAO formats for passports.
- Liveness detection
- Detection of spoofed samples — blurred photographs, masks, artificial fingers, deepfakes.
- Document scanning and OCR
- Scanning of existing documents with automatic data extraction.
- Workflow and case management
- Applicant queue management, status tracking and routing between operators.
The enrollment process initiates the chain of trust for identity proofing: it confirms sponsor or employer validation, binds the applicant to their biometric, validates the identity claim documentation, and delivers a secured enrollment package to the IDMS for adjudication.
Part of the same work can be moved off the counter: with Online Pre-registration the applicant submits their details and a compliant portrait from their own device, and arrives with a code, leaving supervised biometric capture and verification as the only on-site steps.
